The Times

- Boohoo BOOH.L on Thursday questioned Frasers' FRAS.L interests and sought undertakings that would limit the top investor's influence, a day after it urged the British online retailer to refrain from any asset sale without prior approval.

- The Bank of England has cut interest rates for the second time this year and signalled that further reductions are likely, but the prospect of another rate cut before Christmas has diminished amid concern over the impact on inflation of the Labour budget and U.S. election.


The Guardian

- British luxury carmaker Bentley said on Thursday it will launch its first electric car in 2026 and said it will keep selling plug-in hybrids until 2035, formally abandoning a previous goal of going fully electric by 2030.

- Karen Pierce, the British ambassador to the U.S., is to be asked to stay in post as Donald Trump takes power, ahead of a complex shuffle of UK security and diplomatic jobs in the new year.

The Telegraph

- British Deputy Prime Minister Angela Rayner spoke to JD Vance, the U.S. vice president-elect, on Thursday in an effort to improve relations.

- UK Treasury minister Darren Jones will not vote in favour of plans to legalise assisted dying, and warned proposals would not face enough scrutiny when they are debated and voted on in the Commons on Nov. 29.

- NewDay Group, which is owned by private equity firms Cinven and CVC Capital Partners, is kicking off preparations for a sale or stock market listing that could value it at more than 1.7 billion pounds ($2.20 billion).
