Richemont posts H1 miss as weaker China demand weighs
Updates share move and adds analyst comments, peers
** Shares in Richemont CFR.S slip around 3%after the Swiss Cartier jewellery owner posted H1 results below expectations, with a decline of 19% in Asia Pacific sales, led by China
** "Richemont reported sales growth slightly below expectations in its fiscal half year," Vontobel says, adding that operating profit was also a miss
** "The performance of Specialist Watchmakers ended up materially worse than expected by the sellside," Bernstein says
** The company's sales at Specialist Watchmakers fall 17% to 1.7 billion euros
** "H1 results came in overall soft, with a 9% miss at the EBIT level due to pressure from FX and gold, as well as deleverage in watches," J.P.Morgan says
** Peer Swatch UHR.S falls 4.5%, other luxury names are also down, with Kering PRTP.PA, LVMH LVMH.PA, Hermes HRMS.PA slipping between around 2% and 4%
** The stock, which has gained 6% YTD including today's session, hits the bottom of the Swiss blue-chip index .SSMI
